The Bearded Collie is a beautiful long haired dog, and indeed the Bearded Collie is a working dog. He is strong and medium in size with a lean body that is long. We see a head that is wide and large. This is probably the main visible feature of the dog. His coat changes several times before getting the main color with his older dog. Colors are blue, black, brown, fawn, all with or without white markings.

History: The Bearded Collie breed of dog came from Great Britain but was first seen in Scotland. It is believed to be a mix of Polish Sheepdog, Komonor and Old English Sheepdog. These dogs were used as herding dogs and in Scotland they may be called “Hairy Moved Collie” and “Highland Sheepdog” being wonderful working dogs, both with sheep and cattle. They almost became extinct in World War II. Due to the great efforts of a Mrs. GO Willison from Great Britain, the Bearded Collie was resurrected. This breed first came to the United States in 1967. They are still a rare breed. They have many skills within this breed, some of them being obedience, tracking, and performing tricks.

Temperament: The Bearded Collie can be a great companion for children and adults alike. With his cheerful nature, he is full of affection and is playful. If his needs are met, with lots of high energy walks and play, this is a great dog to have, he will love to be with his family, but if he is left alone and not walked enough, he can be very rambunctious, at your expense. . Daily mental and physical exercise cannot be expressed enough. This dog is better off and happier knowing the rules are set and followed, having a clear human leader who is firm, consistent and has natural authority will stop all undesirable behavior.
