The spring

Our soul’s need for fun and nourishment is always there, but the means of fulfilling that inner Divine call can change both with time and experience. What used to cheer me up and inspire me when I was 20 years old has been transformed into new ways to experience the pleasure of life while I’m 50 years old. I laugh inside when I find myself saying a past belief like, “Yes! I love riding horses, it brings me great joy and makes me feel alive!” The truth is that in the past, galloping with a speedy young steed down an open path sent adrenaline pumping through my entire body. I felt alive, strong and connected to both the horse and the universe. Now, however, since a car accident a year ago, which injured my neck, I have not been on a horse. I’m more cautious with my spine and don’t push my body riding like a wild cowboy. The point I’m trying to make is: let’s get real with ourselves and what nurtures our souls now, rather than trying to live off a memory of what was exciting or fun back then. Are we remembering our joy or are we living our joy now?

Consider how many people are now being presented with children who grow up too fast and the elderly who live much longer lives. This leaves some people in the middle, caring for both children and the elderly, with little time for fun or feeding. Perhaps they harbor memories of going to the spa or taking an afternoon nap, but the reality is more likely to be one of kids riding in a taxi, picking up meds for the elderly parent, and falling into bed exhausted and exhausted on many levels. . It is these individuals who have allowed the hustle and bustle of life to creep in and steal the simple joys of a hot bath, candlelight, or a long walk in nature that I speak to. Wake up my friend! Find sustenance for your soul before it is too late and the body succumbs to disease or time runs out. You can resurrect your desire for a happy and meaningful life and tap into your source of vitality.

No one else can discover what brings you joy. It is a gift from your soul that is embedded in your consciousness from before birth. This inspiring knowledge is the key to seizing opportunities to live a fulfilling life. Don’t settle for a mundane existence of work, care, or mediocrity. As for me, now I brush the horses and visit them instead of riding them. There is something about the acrid smell of hay, horse and stable mixed together that delights my inner child and brings a sense of freedom. Find what excites you and welcome that activity into your life now. If not now when? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to learn to surf, paint, or dance but never took the time to do it. Make time to nourish yourself and feel more alive.

As we change and grow, we learn to adapt to new ways of feeling inspired and connecting with our soul. Let go of the past and ask yourself, “How can I better nurture myself right now?” So when someone asks you about your interests, you can honestly say “yes! I like _____________ and I will do it on Saturday, do you want to come?”
