Playstation 3 "Sid Meier’s Revolution of Civilization"

One of the best strategy games for PC is produced by Sid Meier. They make one of the most attractive civilization simulation video games out there. Popular titles like Railroad Tycoon and Civilization have always continued to offer the most advertised game. So it’s no surprise that the company is moving its popular titles from the PC genre to the PlayStation 3 platform. And a good job they did, 2K and Firaxis together managed to translate that PC experience successfully to the PlayStation 3 platform.

In Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution game, the idea is to take a civilization in the Stone Age and, through strategic planning, build it up to the Space Age. When you choose which civilization will be your base, the leader of that civilization will also have an additional bonus for your game. For example, if you choose Cleopatra, you can get additional interest in gold reserves, in medieval times, population growth increases by two additional percentages. There are five levels of difficulty in this game. Use the first level as a guide. As you become more proficient, try the higher difficulty level.

To play this video game, you can choose the multiplayer mode using LAN or the single player mode. For those who have played this game on PC, you will know that the game can take several weeks to complete. But on PlayStation 3, it doesn’t last that long, but not that unsatisfactory. On the PlayStation 3 version, micromanaging has also been removed from the game. The graphics are good, bright, colorful and attractive with animation for the characters. The soundtrack is also satisfying. Overall, the transition from Next Gen gaming console-based PCs to the PlayStation 3 is well executed.

The game controls are also straightforward. You don’t have to be a computer engineer to understand how they work. Although the game didn’t have the depth of the Pcs platform, the gameplay on the PlayStation 3 version is as satisfying as it is entertaining.
