If you know how to use essential oils, you don’t need to be afraid of pandemics like swine flu.

The media has spent a lot of time in recent years talking about bird flu, now it has become swine flu. Many people are afraid and many people ask how they can protect themselves. If you use essential oils (EO), eat healthy and take care of yourself, you really have nothing to fear. In fact, I tend to ignore these media reports until stakeholder questions hit my email box, then I have to stop and remind myself that others are still afraid and the best way to get rid of fear is have understanding.

According to Dana Clay Young, world-renowned essential oils (EO) expert and developer of the Spice for Life formula, every time someone asks her about this pandemic or the pandemic scare, her answer is pretty much the same: “There are four essential oils must never, never go without: Spice for Life, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint. These oils have the largest and longest scientific record showing antiviral and antibacterial properties.” Listening to him lately, I would feel safe in thinking that he would now add a fifth EO to his list, Black Cumin. Spice for Life Be Young EO blend is an oil that has been tested and proven against the bird flu virus. Swine flu is a similar virus to the avian flu virus, so this is still the EO I would look for first.

  • Eo Spice for Life Blend Consists of the following essential oils: Cinnamon, Tangerine, Lemon, Lime, Clove, Nutmeg, Black Cumin, Eucalyptus Radiata, Ravensara, Thymus Vulgaris, and Oregano. Spice for Life EO blend helps stimulate the immune system, especially the respiratory system. A lot of research has been done on Spice for Life to show that it kills bacteria and viruses. When you mix cinnamon, cloves, lemon, and eucalyptus, it has been shown to kill up to 99.968% of airborne bacteria in clinical tests! This has been proven in several different blind tests at several different universities: Weber State, Georgetown, Baylor, and others.
  • RosemaryEO fights infection and helps the body expel excess mucus. It promotes cell metabolism, stimulates cell renewal and helps reduce cell inflammation. It promotes lymphatic drainage and tones the entire body.
  • Eucalyptus The main action of EO is to open the lungs and heal the body. It is antiviral and is an effective expectorant and decongestant. When inhaled or rubbed on the chest, it loosens bronchial secretions so they can be coughed out.
  • MintEO stimulates white blood cells to strengthen the immune system against infections, detoxifies and activates lymphatic flow and drainage.
  • black cumin EO strengthens the body from the base level; increases bone marrow cell production by up to 250%. It helps drain the lymphatic system and supports the liver. It boosts and strengthens the immune system and helps the body increase its intake of zinc. It also helps expel mucus.

How should you use these EOs to help protect yourself?

  • Diffuse–especially near the doors people go in and out of and when they leave for school and work (to protect themselves) and when they get home (to kill anything they brought home). place of risk or if you have children who go to school, that you have a personal diffuser necklace to protect you throughout the day.
  • apply topically to the soles of the feet or touching them with the body. Wow, if you want to feel invincible, brush your body with Eucalyptus! (Note: Peppermint and Spice for Life are too hot, don’t brush them with them.) You can also add any of the above oils to some carrier oil (1/2 teaspoon of carrier oil and 1-3 drops of EO) and then rub it on your chest to help strengthen your respiratory system.
  • take internally In a capsule or make a tea with 1 teaspoon of raw honey, mix 1 drop of your EO of choice into the honey, then add to hot water. Unless you are sick, you only need to take one drop of any of the EOs listed above per meal. For example, take one drop of Spice for Life with breakfast, one drop of Rosemary with lunch, and one drop of Black Cumin with dinner. You should take your peppermint drop in the morning with your liver cleanse, and then you can brush your body with eucalyptus before your shower and you will have used all these oils in one day! (Note: NEVER take an EO internally that has not been EOBBD tested, such as Be Young EOs. Many oils contain synthetics and extenders that can cause harm, especially if taken internally.)
  • soak in the tub with 1/2 cup of Epsom salts (1/4 cup if you are diabetic or of weak constitution) mixed with 3-5 drops of Eucalyptus. Then add the salt to your hot water and shake the water to dissolve the salt. Remember, always rinse after soaking in salt water, as salt helps draw toxins to the skin’s surface and into the water. You don’t want to reabsorb those toxins.

Here is a short list of excellent virus fighters and general immune system boosters.
Virus Fighters:

  • Anti-plague tincture (Dr. Christopher makes an excellent one).
  • elderberry tincture
  • eucalyptus AE
  • mint ae
  • raw honey (local is better)
  • rosemary AE
  • EO Spice for Life Blend

General Immune System Boosters:

  • EO black cumin
  • peppers
  • EO defense mix
  • elderberry tincture
  • Garlic
  • Guardian EO Blend
  • Lavender OE
  • Meditation
  • EO of oregano
  • Virtually any EO
  • Rosehip tincture
  • asleep
  • EO Spice for Life Blend
  • Keep hydrated
  • Ticaboo EO Blend (Another Be Young Blend)

If you don’t know how to make a tincture, it’s pretty easy. It takes some time, not a lot of your time, but they have to sit for several weeks. I make a great AntiPlague tincture that I created. If you’re interested in learning how to make tinctures, email me and I’ll set up a class (this can be a class where you receive hands-on instruction or an in-person hands-on class). Something to keep in mind: Many immune enhancers will continue to put a strain on your immune system, constantly keeping you on high alert. This is not good. It’s like Echinacea, yes, it’s wonderful if you’re fighting a cold, but don’t want to use it all the time.

One of the wonderful things about EOs is that they even out things in your body. For example, if you are diabetic and you inject insulin, you should make sure that your blood sugar level does not drop too low and always have something on hand to raise or lower it. You don’t really have to monitor an EO; it won’t lower the sugar too much nor raise it too high. (Of course, I’m assuming you’re using common sense, a few drops of an EO is all you need, most of the time you only need one drop, assuming you’re using a pure EO with no extenders, like Be a Young EO) . Regardless of what you’re doing, make sure you’re doing your liver cleanse – it’s really hard to stay well when your liver isn’t working!
