How to overcome bullying

Everyone has their ups and downs in life. Some people overcome difficult situations, while others delve into them, often suffering from depression and anxiety. Here are some tips for overcoming bullying:

  1. Get familiar with bullying. Bullying is unwanted aggressive behavior. There are many reasons for a normal human being to become a bully. When people have been through situations of mental harassment and abuse at home or elsewhere, they will choose harassment as an option to look superior to others.
  • Bullies, at some point, have been bullied themselves.
  • Being jealous of others and being insecure can also be reasons.

If you are being bullied or intimidating another person, instead of staying silent, speak up and try to get over this!

  1. Talk to the bully. To explain it with an example, sometimes your friends or the people in your house can get angry about something you have said without knowing that it will hurt them. Similarly, the person who is bullying you may have no idea that they are affecting you. When you talk to them about it, they will likely understand and stop. Also, you should talk to them only if you think they will understand.
  2. Stop being silent: When you are being bullied, you can experience a lot of stress. This makes people unproductive in their work and leads to depression. More than 50% of people who experience bullying do not report it out of shame or perhaps lack of faith in the authorities. But it is very important to talk. Even if you don’t want to report it, talk about it with your teacher / parent / guardian / caregiver or anyone else you trust.
  3. When to report it to the police? Bullying is a criminal offense. You can decide which action bothers you the most. If someone attacks you physically or sexually or shares your images or private information online, it is a crime. You should probably contact the police department and file a complaint.
  4. Stop feeling inferior. In addition to sexuality, gender, identity, race, and disability, another common reason people experience bullying is the feeling of inferiority they have of themselves. Know that if a person is harassing you, it is their problem and not yours.
  5. Avoid being isolated. Although you want to remain isolated, it is not advisable. Staying away from any kind of support will not solve the problem, it will make things worse. You may feel that staying alone gives you peace of mind, but it actually puts you in a state where you are being controlled by what happened.
  6. Watch your health: Healthy eating coupled with a perfect exercise routine can really improve your physical and mental health. This also helps reduce stress and clears your mind. Cooking, yoga, crafts, and pottery are good hobbies that will help you stop thinking about negative thoughts.
  7. Fix your role models. It is important to set a role model and generate positive energy based on your life story. As you can see, many celebrities have been where you are right now, but they have still managed to achieve something in their life and reach the top.
