MS Access 2010

Over the years, MS Access hasn’t changed much. The way database items are created has been fairly consistent from release to release. The 2007 and 2010 versions introduced changes to the design interface and some web-related features.

Essentially, it’s still the best PC database system available, and it takes a lot of hitting. Create relational databases in no time with this great product.

The latest version, MS Access 2010, is an improvement on Access 2007. That version introduced the Office Ribbon, which has had a mixed reception ever since. One critical time was that you couldn’t customize it. The new version of MS Office allows you to customize the ribbon. You may want to add some of your favorite commands or commands you use over and over again. This is easily done with just a few clicks.

Another new feature in MS Access 2010 is the easy creation of table fields. Imagine that when you create fields to hold an address, you create separate fields for street, town, city, state, zip code, etc. You can now select an address data type from the list of available types and MS Access will go ahead and create the separate address fields for you. This is a useful time saver.

Do you want to display your data on the web? In previous versions this was never entirely convincing. To do this you now need to have Sharepoint available.

As with other new applications in MS Office 2010, MS Access includes the behind the scenes view. This allows you to compact your databases, set passwords, create relationships, and analyze the database.

This new version of the world’s most popular desktop database offers even more features and will get you productive fast.
