Individual modifications of sleep time and problems of the biological circadian rhythm

Many people modify their sleep schedules for work reasons, or perhaps they have trouble sleeping. It has been warned that this is a problem for human health, is that true? Yes, the research is pretty concrete, you need your restful sleep, although different people need different amounts. And humans are tied to the planet and to the cycles of light and dark. For several decades, I’ve played around with sleep cycles in an attempt to get more done with my projects, business, or whatever I was doing at the time.

So how did it go? Well, I’m glad you asked, as someone recently asked me the same question not too long ago. Today I keep irregular hours since I am retired and I am free to do so. Now, regarding sleep, well, I often sleep through the night and/or alternate my sleep schedule, for example; stay awake for 24 to 30 hours and sleep ten.

The problem is that the rest of the world follows the normal 24 hour cycles of the planet, therefore it is difficult to collaborate since I will be awake while everyone else is sleeping or sleeping while everyone else is awake, and it is difficult to predict with many days in advance if I will be able to be in a meeting or a conference call, since this type of sleep scheme is based more or less on the concept of “Sleep when you are tired, eat when you are hungry”. Do you see that problem?

Still, I can tell you that 10 hours of sleep once you’re exhausted from sports, travel, or staying up for longer hours is actually extremely healthy, and I haven’t been sick in over a decade, and even when I have some symptoms, they just disappear after sleep, there’s no need for any dumb human medicine or anything like that. And being conditioned over time to stay awake for 30-50 hours if necessary does wonders for projects and thinking intensely, it’s amazing what you can do, you’d be surprised.

In fact, I have written e-books in 3 days, and if those I collaborate with on such projects respond to me on my schedule, I can indeed complete it all, fully completed in 3 days. Can you begin to see the advantages of this? It is a big advantage.

Also, people don’t realize that when your mind gets really tired, part of it rests allowing the other side of the brain to be more dominant. So, I move from logical system thinking to outright creative spatial thinking, and I consider that if you start a project that requires intense thinking, then when you get tired, your mind runs through it only with the innovative creative side, what new concepts and intense can do? devise – a huge plus, it’s like multiple people collaborating with different backgrounds and ways of thinking, but all in one person.

Then add the internet to search for things, it’s awesome. So probably more than you were asking about my sleep schedule experiments and feats, but that’s the reason behind it. I can say this, I don’t recommend messing with sleep too much, and if you do, you need to adjust slowly, otherwise the research seems to indicate health problems may arise. I think I have avoided those problems because of the long hours of sleep between them.

Another problem is that the days blur together and it’s hard to remember, or even care what day it is, when you do this. The things that normal people like, you know, the daily routine and schedules, stress, etc., everything disappears, becomes irrelevant. Interesting yes? Most people have a hard time staying awake for more than 36 hours, but with conditioning it’s not that hard, I still find myself doing it often, I get busy on a project, and as long as one stays focused, the mind doesn’t need to. sleep.

In fact, I once drove from Naples, Florida to Los Angeles non-stop, over 50 hours; No, I didn’t take any drugs, never have, due to my younger days as an athlete, but those things are easily possible. People in times of war do it out of a need for survival, it is a matter of will. Still, I don’t recommend doing any of that unless you’re conditioned to do it and know your true limits.
