Free Feng Shui Tips for Romance

Does your love life need a quick boost? Feng shui can produce results that will tickle your fancy! And, pink is a color to wear if romance is your goal.

Start with your “romantic corner.” In Black Hat Sect (BHS) Feng Shui, that is the far right corner of your home, when you enter the front door. (Remember, you can feng shui your entire home, or just one room if you prefer.)

In Intuitive Feng Shui, it is your bedroom; Compass School enthusiasts will focus on the southwest corner of the room or home.

First, clear the area of clutter: nothing under the bed, overfilled trash cans, moldy ashtrays, and dead plants. Nothing to remind you of a failed relationship either. If you have clothes or books scattered around the room, pick them up. It’s a good idea to vacuum every inch of the floor; After all, you’re making a fresh start, right? Be sure to also remove dust and cobwebs from the walls and ceiling.

If the room in the back right corner of your house is a bathroom, this symbolizes that romance is going down the drain. Be sure to keep the toilet lid down when not in use. Some people go to the extent of putting stoppers in their sink drains, but that might seem a bit strange; stick with what looks good, and you won’t go wrong.

Now, look at the colors in that area. For romance, you will wear pink, white, and red. Try not to wear one color so much that it’s overwhelming. And, if you’re a guy and you’re getting the hang of the ruffled pink decor, it doesn’t have to be girly pink. In fact, you can use mostly maroon and white, and hints of a very grayish pink as accents. (If you went to Harvard, you can wear your school colors.)

Finally, it’s time to add some final touches. The first rule about the romance corner is: nothing by itself. Like Noah’s Ark, everything must be in pairs. If you have one of something, like a romantic red candle, be sure to display a second one.

Flowers are also a great option, but be sure to keep them fresh. That’s a second rule in this area (and throughout your house): nothing dead. No dried flowers; if you don’t remember to throw away the flowers when they fade, get silk flowers instead.

If you are going to display roses, whether plastic or real, make sure they are free of thorns. Everything in the romantic corner should feel nice to the touch. Of course, cactus plants don’t belong here, unless your immediate goal is to break up with someone.

As a final touch, you can display images that relate to your ideal partner or partner. Or put some photos that you find romantic.

Now, light a couple of candles for a soft glow. Play music that makes you smile and think about being in love. Admire what you’ve accomplished in this area, and know that Mr. (or Mrs.) Perfect is probably coming into your life very soon. You’ve done all the right feng shui to attract romance, and this corner of your home looks wonderful.
