There will be a new champion at the Stardust Invitational this year.

Big Al McMordie, the defending champion, had his winning streak snapped by five straight invitational wins (four last year, one this year) by Floridian Marc Lawrence.

Lawrence, a member of the Professional Handicappers League who made a name for himself in the Ohio sports gaming and publishing industries before moving to Sunshine State last year, went 4-2-1 while McMordie went 3-2. Four.

Lawrence becomes the second person, joining Andy Iskoe, to advance to Round 3.

The best this week are Tim Trushel and Steve Cofield, both hosts of sports radio shows.

Both players lost at Cal plus 18 1/2 and won at Iowa State plus 2 1/2, McMordie the best bet.

Lawrence drove his, Alabama plus a field goal, which is why Georgia beat the Crimson Tide.

Lawrence also won at Arkansas plus 1, Auburn plus 3 and their Ugly Pig Special (UPS), the Green Bay Packers, who not only covered the 9 1/2 point lead, but won outright.

In addition to Cal, Lawrence lost at Arizona State plus 3.

McMordie, a member of the Professional Handicappers League, added the Bills minus 2 1/2 and the Vikings plus 9 1/2 to his win column.

Their losers other than the Bears were Wake Forest plus 17, Eagles minus 3, and Ravens plus 6 1/2.

McMordie and Lawrence were two of 16 players invited by Stardust Race and Sporting Director Bob Scucci to participate in the eleventh renewal of the Invitational.

They were matched in eight first round matches, with the winners going through to the quarterfinals. The losers were eliminated.

Each week, the two featured guests make seven selections against the Friday night Stardust lineup.

The picks are announced on a Friday night radio show that airs on KDWN-720AM throughout the Western United States and in Canada.

Your hashtag can also build your brand. Hashtags can generate buzz about a specific business or marketing campaign. For example: Domino’s Pizza asked people to tweet with the hashtag #letsdolunch. Once a certain number of tweets were posted, Domino’s would drop their prices by 50% for an allotted time. You can also use hashtags in your contests and giveaways.

7. Make it mobile: Make sure it’s mobile friendly. More people use mobile devices every day, and you need to make sure your sites and pages can be viewed correctly on mobile devices. Be sure to take advantage of Twitter’s mobile features.

8. Share Testimonials – Regularly tweet short new testimonials from your customers. For example: Thank you John who says: using #ZitBeGone has given me more confidence to make every day a success! Tweets like this can help give a potential customer the push they need to visit your site and possibly buy your products.

9. Schedule tweets: It is impossible for us to be on Twitter sending tweets 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so it is best to schedule our tweets regularly. When scheduling tweets, the first thing to do is determine the best times to tweet. One free tool that can help you find the best times to tweet is Tweriod. They will analyze the tweets of your followers to know when they are active on Twitter and when you should be too. If you find these times hard to tweet, you can use tools like Hootsuite to schedule those tweets. By using such tools, you can stay active at all times by keeping your Twitter account more alive, thus attracting more potential customers.

10. Customer search: You can use your Twitter account to search and find customers. By using keywords that relate to your products, you can find people who are talking about these products, and then you can offer them the solution they are looking for. You can also use a tool called Tweetdeck to set up searches. Respond to these people quickly and make a connection. Many people will go with the first business to serve their needs.

The events leading up to my interview with coach Lou Holtz are not coincidental. I attribute it to the Law of Attraction.

About a month ago my wife and I purchased Jack Canfield’s Dream Big Collection. When we received the products in the mail, it came with a DVD titled Living the Law of Attraction.

If you haven’t heard Jack Canfield’s presentation, you’re missing out. He has a way of remembering and telling stories that inspires everyone in the room.

Jack recalled an interview he conducted with coach Lou Holtz, the legendary former Notre Dame football coach and now a commentator for ESPN. At the time of his interview, the coach had reached 102 of his 107 goals. They included winning a National Championship, having dinner at the White House, meeting the Pope, and landing a plane on an aircraft carrier.

Well, that prompted me to contact the coach for an interview about goal setting. After a few emails and going through various contacts and assistants, I met my goal to get a quick interview.

1. I recently watched a video of Jack Canfield giving a presentation on Living the Law of Attraction. He said that he had scored 107 goals when you were 20 years old and you had hit 102 of them. What was one of the last goals you accomplished and can you describe what happened?

The last was when I was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in May of 2008.

2. What was the name of the book that motivated you to make a list?

The magic of thinking big by David Schwarz.

3. Now that you’re older, how has meeting your goals changed from when you were younger?

Completely. It has taught me to take control of my life and that everything that happens to me, good or bad, is because of the decisions I make.

4. What is a goal you haven’t reached yet and what are you doing today to make it happen?

I can’t speak a second language! I have tapes on how to speak Spanish, but I haven’t been able to block the amount of time it takes to get it done.

5. As we all know, sometimes the realization of our aspirations involves other individuals. As a legendary coach of young athletes, what would you do to encourage your players to help achieve coach, player and team goals?

Everyone should have the same goals. Also, everyone needs to understand how they will personally benefit when we reach our goals.

6. Can you share some of your tips and techniques that you use or have used to make your dreams come true?

1) Decide what you want to achieve and the date.

2) What talents you must acquire to do this.

3) Who do you have to work with to achieve this.

4) What problems you must overcome to achieve it.

5) Have a plan.

6) Share with others why they will benefit.

7. I heard that only 3% of Americans have a list of measurable goals. What would you say is the biggest barrier for people not reaching their aspirations or not even making a goal list?

They are not determined, they do not have a goal, they have a wish list.

8. What do you do when you fail to meet a goal that you have set for yourself?

Find out why I didn’t and learn from it!

9. What goal did you accomplish that you would say impacted you the most?

Being married to the same wife for 48 years. May all 4 children graduate from college, 3 from Notre Dame and 1 from Centenary. We are a united family that cares for each other.

10. What advice do you have for people who are setting their goals today?

Be realistic, but don’t underestimate your talent.

When New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was eight years old, he found himself in the San Francisco Giants locker room, where he asked Chili Davis, a star of the team at the time, for an autograph. Davis refused, but said, “Maybe later, kid, maybe if you come over after the game.”

So young Brandy stayed, and after the game he approached his favorite player again, only to be rebuffed again with “No, I’m not signing autographs after the game.”

The effect stuck with Brady, both in terms of the disappointment it brought him and Brady’s future outlook on autographs when he found himself in similar situations.

“It certainly hurt,” Brady told Tuff Stuff magazine. “But at the same time, I was in the kid’s clubhouse and now I see it from a different perspective than I did when I was that age. At the time, though, it seemed like such a small request.”

You’d expect walking into the Patriots’ locker room and asking for autographs to be a quick way to get your butt kicked, but there are certain ways you can put yourself on the autograph-giver’s radar.

First, you must have something to sign. Getting a player to sign your arm might seem like a fun idea at the time, and you might do it, but it’s largely a pointless act since you’ll eventually wash it off. Here’s a good rule of thumb: if you don’t go directly to the tattoo parlor to have a tattoo artist trace the autograph, don’t bother signing the body. Always carry a good quality pen. What’s the point of giving a player something to sign if you don’t give them the means to do so?

Next, know who the heck you’re talking to. If you can call his name, or say something that shows you’ve taken an interest in him, he’ll give you more sympathetic looks than a fan with a giant “P” painted on his beer belly.

The next important thing to remember is location, location, location. It’s much easier to get a player to sign something from a front row seat than from a second balcony seat. If you get a good seat and also get to the game early, you can try talking to the players as they walk by. If you manage to get a guy to engage in conversation for a while, you might end up with some players stopping to chat.

Sometimes a player will be the star signing autographs and a crowd will quickly form. This is another reason to arrive early. Fighting a crowd for signatures, or worse, being in your seat while dozens of people start piling up around you, is likely to annoy you more.

If you can learn where the players enter and exit the stadium, that’s another great place to find them ready to sign, pose for photos, and shake hands. If they are not in a hurry, they are much more likely to stick around for a while.

There is also always the traditional way to get an autograph: write it down. Most team clubs will accept the mail and forward it to the player. When writing an athlete for an autograph, the same rules apply for any autograph request sent by mail:

* Always include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE).

* Attach a photo and/or tokens for the player to sign.

* Do not send food, money or gifts.

* Always include a letter recognizing the player and their achievements.

* Be patient.

Have a special ability, read good books

As college football enters its home stretch, anyone remotely associated with the game knows full well that USC, Texas, and Alabama (listed in BCS team ranking order), remain the nation’s only undefeated teams. However, there are a few other teams with a zero in the right hand column, when it comes to conference standings.

West Virginia of the Big East easily took care of Cincinnati on Wednesday night, moving to 5-0 in the league. The Mountaineers still have games left on November 24 against Pittsburgh (in Morgantown) and December 3 in South Florida. The Mountaineers had the Big East title on their hands last year, but lost at home to Boston College 36-17 and at Pittsburgh (16-13) to end the year. This year’s team shows no signs of imploding, but you never know

TCU has already won the MWC title, in its first year in the league. The Horned Frogs easily dispatched Colorado State last Saturday (33-6), clinching the school’s first outright conference title since winning the SWC crown in 1958. At 7-0 at MWC, the Horned Frogs (29-point favorites!) need only to beat UNLV in Fort Worth on Saturday to go 10-1 overall and 8-0 in the league. Ironically, the team’s only loss in 2005 came against old SWC rival SMU. Just a week after opening the season by winning 17-10 in Norman against the Sooners (as underdogs with nearly four TDs), TCU lost 21-10 at SMU, a team that is just 3-6 on the year.

At least one of the remaining undefeated seven in the college football conference HAS to lose this weekend. Boise State and Fresno State of the WAC (both 5-0), meet Thursday night on ESPN. Boise State entered the WAC in 2001 and in that first year, ended Fresno’s 17-game home winning streak with a 35-30 victory as a 16-point underdog. After losing at La Tech later that year, Boise began a conference winning streak that reached 31 games! During that streak, the Broncos are an impressive 21-10 ATS.

Despite the fact that Boise possesses that long conference winning streak and has beaten Fresno in all four meetings since joining the conference (winning by an average score of 41-21 and going 4-0 ATS), the Bulldogs are solid favorites (more than one TD) in Thursday’s game. Fresno State is surely no slouch as the Bulldogs are 38-5 SU at home since 1998 and go into their matchup with the Broncos at 7-1 (the only loss in 8-1 Oregon, 37-34) and held ranked 20th on the AP (current BCS ranking is 22).

The winner of Thursday’s matchup will likely win the rest of the way in conference play, but it’s not a ‘lock’. Boise has an easy game at home against Idaho, but must play at La Tech (7-1 SU at home since 2004). As for Fresno, after traveling to USC on December 19 for a non-conference game, the Bulldogs must head to Reno, where Nevada has gone 9-2 SU and ATS in its last 11 home games. Fresno ends the season with a game against La Tech at home.

Returning to the top three teams in the nation, USC faces the one school that has given them the most trouble in recent years. USC brings a 31-game winning streak to its game at Cal this Saturday, as well as a 14-game road winning streak and a 21-game Pac-10 winning streak. Cal was the last team to beat USC, 34-31 in triple overtime in 2003. Cal nearly beat the Trojans last year in Los Angeles losing 23-17 and in 2003, losing 30-28. Adding a little more drama to the mix, a USC victory will tie Cal’s record Pac-10 winning streak of 22 consecutive, established from 1947-1950. at home against Fresno State and UCLA (the Trojans have won 25 straight at the Coliseum).

Texas, the No. 2 team in the nation, looks for its 17th straight win this Saturday in Austin against Kansas. While Texas and USC have won games by similar margins, Texas outscoring their opponents 48.3-14.3 with USC outscoring their opponents by an average of 49.9-20.6, the Longhorns are 8-1 ATS while the Trojans are just 4-5 . Texas is a 33-point favorite over Kansas and ends its regular season with a visit to College Station, where the Longhorns take on the disappointing Aggies. Texas’ likely opponent in the Big-12 title games is Colorado, a team the Longhorns beat in Austin 42-17 on Oct. 15.

While few think USC or Texas will stumble down the stretch, the nation’s No. 3 team Alabama (but just 3-6 ATS) finds itself like a local ‘dog’ (plus-3) this Saturday at No. .5 LSU. Since losing WR Tyrone Protho, the Tide have scored just ONE TD in their last three SEC games. However, Alabama possesses the No. 1 scoring defense in the country (8.2 PPG) and shouldn’t be ruled out of any game. If Alabama escapes against LSU, the Tide plays Auburn in the “Iron Bowl” on December 19 in Auburn. Alabama’s likely opponent in the SEC title game (if the team goes that far) is either Georgia or Florida.

The SEC saw Auburn go 12-0 last year but sit out of the BCS title game and it seems likely that Alabama will go 12-0 in 2005 and sit out as well. USC increased their lead over Texas in the latest BCS Rankings and Texas’ lead over Alabama is SUBSTANTIAL! BCS history says that the two teams ranked first and second in the opening BCS poll of the season (this year it was USC and Texas), have NEVER met in that year’s BCS title game. However, USC and Texas already made BCS history in 2005, as the same two teams had never before been one or two in each of the first four BCS positions of a season. Perhaps USC and Texas are destined to meet in Pasadena?

GENTLE LOSERS

I can’t close without listing the winless teams, the ones with the zero in the wrong place! Temple is 0-10 (4-6 ATS) in 2005 but has the week off before closing out his season Dec. 19 at Navy. New Mexico State is 0-9 (2-7 ATS) and is home to Nevada, where the Aggies are underdogs by 9 1/2 points. Buffalo, also 0-9 (5-4 ATS!) is at Kent State and the Bulls may have a chance. The not-so-Golden Flashes are just 1-8 in 2005, but they are favored by about one TD. Note: Buffalo also owns the longest road losing streak in the country at 22 straight losses.

Rice (0-8 SU and 1-7 ATS) in 2005 and owners of the nation’s longest current losing streak at 14, plays its Homecoming game this week against 2-6 Tulane. Owls are actually a ONE-POINT favorite! Could be? By the way, including Buffalo, New Mexico State and Rice (Temple will play as an Independent this year), there are still 13 schools that have yet to win in the conference and will be getting in on the action this weekend.

Tyrannosaurs, or to be more precise, the theropod dinosaurs that make up the Tyrannosauroid family, are perhaps the best known of all the different types of dinosaurs. One of the last, and one of the largest tyrannosaurs to evolve, was the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex (Tyrant Lizard King). This dinosaur held the record for being the largest and most powerful land predator of all time for the better part of a century, no respectable dinosaur movie was complete without a T. Rex or two showing up to chase down and consume a few people. T. rex lived at the end of the Cretaceous, in a part of the world we now know as the western United States and Canada, though at the time much of the Americas was covered by a warm, shallow sea scientists call the Interior. Western. Seaway.

Tyrannosaurus Rex was large with a very deep and powerful skull. Its strong jaws and banana-sized teeth gave it perhaps the most powerful bite of any land predator. Scientists have estimated that it could generate a biting force at the tips of its massive teeth of more than 15,000 pounds per square inch. This is becoming fifteen times more powerful than the bite of a modern African lion (Panthero leo).

However, in the late 1990s, evidence of even larger meat-eating dinosaurs began to be discovered. Scientists had speculated that spinosaurs, particularly the remains of one such creature whose fossilized bones were found in 1911, just a few years after T. Rex was formally named and described, were at least as big as Tyrannosaurus Rex. Fossils found in South America proved that tyrannosaurs didn’t have everything their way when it came to being big and really ferocious. In 1993, a local fossil collector, Ruben Carolini, found the fossilized remains of a huge meat-eating dinosaur. The subsequent scientific expedition discovered the skull of a meat-eating dinosaur that was larger than any T. Rex skull known at the time. The scientists then found the nearby jawbone of another similar creature that was even larger. From these discoveries, the “giant southern lizard” was described and Giganotosaurus carolini officially became the largest carnivorous dinosaur known from the fossil record and, by default, the largest land carnivore of all time.

However, the debate over which was the largest meat-eating dinosaur is still going on, fueled by more fossil discoveries in the United States, Argentina, and North Africa. An intriguing new field of research may have revealed a trait among tyrannosaurs that until recently had not been considered: that these animals may have been pack hunters.

The behavior of carnivorous dinosaurs was most likely as diverse as that of modern mammalian carnivores. Today, we see social hunters like lions and wolves, as well as predators that tend to be more solitary, like leopards and pumas. In addition, some modern predators, largely considered loners, have a pack form of existence for part of their lives. A female polar bear (currently considered the largest terrestrial carnivore in existence today) will have her cubs with her for a considerable period, although the adult does the hunting. Tigers too, highly regarded as solitary hunters, form packs for part of their lives. Here, the young cubs spend perhaps up to two years with their mother and, as subadults, the siblings will often live as a loose collective for a time, before reaching sexual maturity. The collective noun for a group of tigers is a “tiger ambush”, an apt description considering the ambush tactics most tiger species employ when hunting prey.

It was Professor Phi Currie and colleagues who raised the profile of tyrannosaur pack hunting with a paper published in 2000, detailing a study of an albertosaurus (type of tyrannosaur) bone bed in Canada. The scientific paper was titled “Possible Evidence for Herd Behavior in Tyrannosaurs.” The remains of at least three Albertosaurus were discovered together in a bone bed, these dinosaurs were of different sizes, perhaps they were part of a herd of these dinosaurs that perished together crossing a swollen river, or perhaps the bodies of these animals were deposited in the same river. place many years apart after different floods.

Professor Currie of the University of Alberta and his team speculated that, at least for part of the time, large theropods might have formed herds or family groups. Juveniles may have associated with mature animals in herds and therefore did not compete for food with smaller types of theropods. After a five-year research program, more evidence has been uncovered about the herd behavior of large tyrannosaur species in the Gobi desert. Phil Currie has been at the forefront of this research, working closely with his Chinese museum counterparts, including the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology. This time, the Tyrannosaurus in question is Tarbosaurus bataar, a close relative of Tyrannosaurus Rex. This Asian tyrannosaurid is the largest known Asian predator with fossils found in China and Mongolia. It was very similar to T. Rex with a slightly narrower snout and smaller teeth. It reached lengths greater than 12 meters and would have weighed around five metric tons.

If tyrannosaurs, including Tyrannosaurus Rex, were pack hunters, then these creatures likely specialized in preying on large herbivores such as ceratopsians (horned dinosaurs) and hadrosaurs (duck-billed dinosaurs). It is not known if these animals remained in family groups for much of their lives. It is also impossible to determine if these creatures had any hunting tactics. Lions have strategies to hunt on the African plains, wolves also adopt a number of tactics to catch animals. Whether tyrannosaurs were capable of communicating and coordinating attacks with individuals that perhaps had their own specialized roles to play in hunting is unknown.

Tyrannosaurs as pack animals would have been truly formidable. This raises the intriguing question of what the collective noun for a herd of tyrannosaurs should be. A collective noun is a word used to describe a collection of creatures, such as a pod of whales, a school of fish, or a pride of lions. What would be a known appropriate collective for a group of theropod dinosaurs? Perhaps we could put forward the proposal that a group of Albertosaurs be called a “raid” of Albertosaurs.

But what about the Tyrannosaurus Rex? What would be the collective noun for a group of these fearsome reptiles, might we suggest a Tyrannosaurus “tyranny” or how about a T. Rexes “rant”?

Disguised as a winter sporting event, the first World Championship games were a demonstration event at the 1920 Summer Olympics. One stipulation was that if hockey was played, figure skating must be included. Sweden blanked the host team of Belgium 8 – 0 on April 23, 1920 in Antwerp in game #1. Bill Hewitt umpired the first hockey game. Kristmundur “Chris” Fridfinnson scored the goal that gave Canada its first Olympic gold medal. Einar Svenson scored the first goal against Canada in Olympic competition. Nursing lead 3 – 0, Svenson scored for the Swedes at 15:58 of the first half. It should be noted that the first Olympic hockey games were divided into halves from 2 to 20 minutes.

1924: The 1924 Winter Olympics, officially known as the First Winter Olympics, were held in Chamonix, France. Originally called Semaine des Sports d’Hiver “International Winter Sports Week” and held in association with the 1924 Summer Olympics, the sporting competitions held at the foot of Mont Blanc in Chamonix, Haute-Savoie, between January 25 and 5th February. Harry Watson played 5 games and scored a hat-trick in each competition. Getting off to a fast start, Harry scored a total of 11, 13 and 6 goals – 3 games in three days. After a day off, Watson scored hat hats against Great Britain and the USA in the medal competition. Still a total scoring record… 36 goals for the tournament. Canada split 17 hat-tricks among 4 players. After representing the US in the 1924 Olympics, Al “Frenchy” Lacroix became George Vezina’s backup with the Canadians. Lacroix took over from Vezina during the 1925-26 season. Alphonse Albert Lacroix hailed from Newton, Massachusetts.

1928: At the 1928 Olympics, the Canadian gold medal winners “shut out” the opposition entirely. Represented by the U. of Toronto Grads, Canada shut out European opposition three times in a row. Due to their well-known superiority, Canada was given an automatic “bye” in the medal round. They claimed the Gold by shutting out Sweden 11-0, Great Britain 14-0 and Switzerland 13-0. Dr. Joe Sullivan recorded the shutouts in games #1 and #3. “Stuffy” Mueller blanked Britain. Future Montreal Maroons teammates Hugh Plaxton and Dave Trottier led Canadian scoring with 12 goals each. Despite not being behind the bench, Conn Smythe was awarded a gold medal at the 1928 Olympics. Two of the players from Canada, Hugh Plaxton and Joe Sullivan, lobbied for their relatives to make the 1928 Olympic team. Smythe did not agree. Frank Sullivan, Roger and Bert Plaxton were added. The players won the dispute. They went for the Gold. Conn Smythe stayed home. Manager Bill Hewitt was left in charge of the Canadian team.

1932: The rules regarding the amateur status of players competing in Olympic tournaments were very strict. Once again, the US Olympic Committee bent the amateur vs. professional in 1932. Before the Lake Placid games, the American team played the Boston Bruins. The US Olympic team received receipts for the game. The Americans claimed that they could not afford to travel to the games if they did not accept the revenue. The Canadians refused to file a protest. The opening matchup of the 1932 Canada vs. The United States was late. Prior to the action, US goalkeeper Frank Farrell had his goalie guards strapped down so tightly that they were within the legal width. When the goaltender’s knees were together, the pads could not be more than 20 inches wide. The two-umpire system was accepted. Only two men officiated all the contests… Lou Marsh from Canada and Don Sands from the United States. The tournament was a double round-robin series. The teams played periods of 3 to 15 minutes.

1936: The Port Arthur Bearcats were chosen as Canada’s representatives in the 1936 Olympics by default. The usual procedure was that the Allan Cup champions of previous years would be Canada’s team of choice. However, the 1935 Halifax Wolverines lost most of their best players after their Allan Cup victory. Faced with the impossibility of putting together a competitive team, the Olympic committee chose the runner-up Bearcats. Canada’s Olympic streak reached 20 before suffering its first loss. After 3 victories in Group “A”, the Canadian team was defeated by Great Britain 2-1. February 10, 1936: Chirp Brenchley scored the game-winner at 13:48 of the third period. Carl Erhardt was the oldest player to win an Olympic gold medal in hockey. Born February 15, 1897, Erhardt captained the 1936 Olympic champions. Carl was 39 years old at the time.

leadership qualities

Being the president of the organization, you must have the leadership qualities that will help you unite the entire organization towards the common goal. You must have confidence in your decision but not be a dictator. Always be a motivator, a teacher, a friend, a visionary, and a critic of your entire group. You must have the ability to get people to follow you willingly. You must have a clear vision and you must be able to decide what you want the whole group to achieve. Discipline is mandatory for a leader and his entire team. When you expect students to learn discipline, you need to be well organized with your meetings, fundraisers, proposals, etc.

Must be a good planner

As president, you must work hard on various issues, such as improving parent and teacher involvement, hiring volunteers, budgeting, working on fundraising, and much more. For one person, managing all this will be impossible. As the group leader, you must know how to delegate these tasks among your members. Planning and delegating tasks is one of the toughest responsibilities of being a president. A good and timely plan can cut your stress and workload in half. Don’t hesitate to enlist the help of your peers as you make your plan, as they may have some great ideas. Even if they don’t, a good leader is someone who respects people’s ideas and encourages participation.

Excellent communication skills

Convincing people to join your organization or buy your products is not an easy job. You must be an excellent communicator to provoke people to do what you ask. Explain to your audience what a PTO is all about; tell them your purpose, how you operate, what they can contribute, and how it will benefit students and the school. A simple talk will not be as effective as an emotional one. You have to make people feel like you really need their help. Sometimes people have to be coddled because not everyone will be interested in social service.

Being the leader of the organization, you must be compassionate towards others. He listens to their problems and discusses their problems with them. He does not consider himself the decision maker; rather he promotes an environment where decisions are made through mutual discussions. Accept critically with optimism and take all possible steps to avoid pitfalls that can ruin your fundraiser. Be confident and increase the confidence of others too.

You have to be a good leader to become a successful PTO president.

Quick, name the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Surely your list would include names like Dan Marino, Johnny Unitas, Joe Namath, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and John Elway, among others. None of those names seem out of place, but would you think differently if I put Rex Grossman on that list? As it turns out, Grossman deserves to be on that list just as much as Joe Namath. Heck, his career QB rating is 5 points higher than Namath’s. So why was Namath a surefire hall of famer while Grossman swam in the overcrowded pool of mediocrity?

One cannot ignore the fact that most of Joe Namath’s career stats are average at best. Nothing in his career says “superstar.” Sure, he was a huge figure in New York, wearing a fur coat and wearing white cleats when every other Jet player was wearing black, but does that really make Average Joe a Broadway Joe? As it turns out, he absolutely does. Joe Namath was a terribly inaccurate quarterback. His 50.1 career completion percentage is below average, as is his 173 career TD passes vs. 220 interceptions.

The one thing Joe Namath did that no other quarterback on the all-time list did was promise his team would win the Super Bowl against a heavy favorite and keep that promise. Some would say that game alone should give Namath his hall of fame credibility, but it’s important not to take things at face value. Namath made that promise and played for the game-winning Jets team, but he hardly “led” the team to victory. The Jets followed their game plan of passing the ball through the Baltimore Colts defense and it worked perfectly. Joe Namath didn’t even throw a touchdown pass in the game. Basically, the Jets won by keeping the ball out of Joe Namath’s hands.

Joe Namath also didn’t help with his team’s running game. Unlike other quarterbacks of the era, Joe Namath almost never ran the ball. He finished with 140 career rushing yards. He played in 140 career games. In case you haven’t done your elementary school math, that’s 1 yard per game running for Namath. Opponent defenses knew that when Joe Namath held the ball, he was going to pass it. That’s probably why his teams were .500 in the games he started. He also didn’t win another playoff game after his famous Super Bowl win.

If anyone wants an example of a quarterback who was better than Namath but doesn’t get credit as an “all-time great,” how about Doug Williams? He changed the game as much as Namath, being the first black person to become an NFL quarterback, and he also had a huge Super Bowl victory. The difference between the two is that Williams’ Super Bowl performance was one of the best by a quarterback in Super Bowl history, while Namath’s can only be generously described as average.

There is nothing against Namath, but the statistics clearly show that he was not only not among the greatest quarterbacks of all time, but he really doesn’t even deserve to be enshrined in the hall of fame.
