Have you ever had a disaster at a party that could have been prevented with a good plan? My question to you, even before starting this journey is, “can you afford to have a party somewhere or just at home”? matter. A lot. I could tell you some party horror stories for lack of budget. A party I attended ended early, no one wanted to stay as there was no food available. That goes for cheap buffets too, some people would rather go for street takeaways, than eat bland sandwiches and mini buns thrown on a foil plate and some won’t go back unless the beer is really good. I’ve seen horrible places with sticky floors and disgusting bathrooms, sometimes the party can be okay, but if the place you’ve chosen is horrible, people will remember it more. And what about the day when all the caterers for a party showed up at the venue that was closed and upon calling and asking why they found out they had no record of the reservation?

Don’t let these embarrassing things happen to you. If you’re going to have a party it has to be epic, even a party at your house has to be memorable for all the right reasons. Have a great plan, these 10 simple steps will help you get to an epic party.

The first 3 steps are the most important. members of your group and do these steps before doing anything else. These top 3 are party makers and breakers, the must have items for your party and if you are budget constrained, these 3 are the only things you need.

1. Pick a date.

Start planning your party at least 3 months in advance, 9 if you are really organized. The places are cheaper during the week, from Sunday to Thursday. Fridays and Saturdays are the weekend and ‘holidays’ and can be more expensive. Think of the holidays as great dates for parties, a Sunday night means no work on Monday, a fabulous idea. Keep these things in mind when you take the next step.

2. Choose your place.

For a party, a birthday, anniversary, etc. choose a place like your home, a pub, a social club or a function room; for a more formal occasion, you can choose a hotel, a park or a farm. After booking, pay your deposit and get your reservation in writing, it must be a contract, but at least one confirmation email with a receipt for your deposit, which you can print as proof.

Do; Beware of the place that says free event room when you buy your buffet. Remember the bland sandwiches and mini rolls thrown on a foil plate…avoid at all costs! Do; Check if the place needs a little sprucing up like; Do the bathrooms need any air freshener, liquid soap, flowers? If the stage looks dirty, put a bright banner over it. When the lights are dim, these things will look good with these helpful tips.

Do; Please call your venue with your name and reservation date and request access time for vendors serving your party 1-2 weeks in advance. This is also a great way to have a conversation with your venue and confirm your reservation again.

3. Choose a caterer

Many people make the mistake of reserving food for their party last, you could really end up disappointed. Catering is one of the first 3 steps after reserving your spot. Have you ever been to a party without food? When people drink, they want food, even if it’s just a hamburger. I’ve been to parties where snacks and cakes have been served, this is fine for a teenage house party, but not if the adults are invited, people will leave early looking for food, you don’t want this to happen. Consider your budget, your guests, and what food you love. Choosing a buffet should be fun, choose the one that best suits your tastes and budget. Get menus from a few vendors and compare them. Make sure your caterer is fully registered, insured, licensed and has a good hygiene rating. As soon as you know which caterer you want to work for you, get them booked, pay your deposit to save your date in your diary ASAP. You don’t need to count on your guest or even your finished menu to secure your date in the caterer’s diary. . Be sure to get a confirmation of your reservation and/or a receipt for your deposit.

Do; Hire a caterer. Catering is a lot of work and stressful for those who don’t do it regularly. You don’t want to be exhausted from your party, you should enjoy your party and guests, not work. Everyone remembers food so make it memorable but it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, there are great caterers out there who will offer burgers and wedges along with some flourishes and your guests will be impressed.

Do; Find out if you have guests attending with allergies or have dietary requirements such as vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. and tell your provider.

4. cake

If you need a cake for your event, book it below. I hope I don’t surprise you by saying this, but not all of the best bakeries have storefronts in your local town or city, some of the most amazing cakes I’ve had are from bakers who have their own bakery in their own home kitchen. I know and have used quite a few and have never been disappointed. Check Facebook to find home bakeries, check their portfolio, hygiene rating, reviews and book that cake.

5.Entertainment

Do you have a DJ or live band? Clown or bouncy castle? A soloist or a string quartet? Whatever you’ve decided, do your homework, look at profiles and reviews. A great place to get free quotes is FREEINDEX, they are the kings of comparison shopping when buying services. I always get 5 quotes in FREEINDEX, which I can compare with each other. Other well known sites that you can get vendor quotes from charge exorbitant prices to the vendor just to get back to you, so not good if you want to compare quotes, you are unlikely to get more than 1 or 2.

6. Costume of the place

When guests enter your party, the wow factor immediately hits them through the ambience created by your venue’s powder room. So how do you want your room to look? what do you want? Something simple like colored balloons? Something more romantic like flowers and candles? Or do you want to go all out with chair covers and sashes, tall chandeliers, or even trees with lanterns tied to them? Whatever you want, a place dresser has the kind of “wildest dreams” imagination and is a great person to tap into your creative ideas.

7. Invite

Party invitations must be sent 8-6 weeks prior to the event date and the RSVP date must be at least 10 days prior to the party. You will find that your caterer will need the final numbers 7-5 days before the event date and Once you have locked in the number of guests, your caterer will not be able to decrease your numbers, only increase them.

8. Free drinks

Whether you have a beer or wine behind the bar for your guests and hand out drink coupons on your invitations or have a glass of champagne on arrival for everyone. Your guests appreciate the idea that the first drink to get the party juices flowing is on you. If the bar at your venue doesn’t offer arrival cocktails like a bubbly or mimosa, then ask your caterer to do so. If your venue doesn’t have a bar or you’re hosting your party in a garden tent, you can hire a bar from an independent bar company or your caterer.

9. Party Favors

I have come across many party favors in my time, from love heart rolls, lottery tickets, chocolate covered fruit bags, popcorn bags, candy carts, cupcakes, cigars, fancy chocolates, the list go and go. Although party favors aren’t important and you don’t need them, your guests appreciate them, especially when you’re a little quirky. Candy carts may be a more expensive option for a party favor, but people love them. A chocolate fountain is also a very welcome idea.

10. Event/Photo Booth Photographers

A great way to have a keepsake of your party favors. People love them and post them on social media, turning your lovely party into an epic event in the lives of the attendees. Don’t forget to tell everyone your hashtag for your party, put up a sign at the bar, so everyone can see your photos of everyone else in the same place online. #stephsgreatparty #johnis21 etc

Are you discouraged? Do you feel down and out? Do you wonder why you should bother to continue living the Christian life, especially since you seem like a failure?

Who has not felt useless at some time? Who has not become impatient with himself and sickened by his lack of spiritual progress? (Luke 8:15). YOU’RE NOT ALONE! We all go through those valleys of the shadow of death. But take heart: the road must be reopened soon! “Why are you downhearted, O my soul, and why are you troubled within me? Wait on God, for I will yet praise him, who is the salvation of my countenance and my God” (Ps. 42:11).

Who would encourage you to quit smoking? Would Christ want you to give up? The one who DIED for you? Would God pressure you to give up? Too many have never realized the vicious beast and the enemy we must face. Even those who have not dismissed the devil as superstition have not realized how dangerous it really is to our health and well-being. God picks up the pieces of lives that have been savagely torn and torn and left for dead by sin (Isaiah 49:24-25; Amos 3:12).

Satan foams at the mouth at our incredible human potential and wants to take us out like a sniper, one at a time. He hates all mankind with jealousy and anger (because we are created according to the divine gender), but he has the brothers as a special target (1 Peter 5: 8-11).

The Devil can take some things that are true about you and twist them out of context and out of proportion to DESTROY your will to survive. He never stops talking bad about us because he is a LIAR AND MURDERING CHARACTER KILLER! (John 8:44; Revelation 12:10). Aim do not let the powers of darkness overcome your will to live in the light. Don’t accept Satan’s depressed mind. Don’t fall prey to his desperate defeat attitude. He has no right to condemn (Rom. 8:1,33).

King David was discouraged, but he ended his prayers on a positive note, showing the healing effect of God’s Spirit on our minds as we pray from our hearts. “He had pretended, unless he had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living. Wait on Jehovah; take heart, and he will strengthen your heart; he hopes, I say, in Jehovah ”(Ps. 27: 13-14). David believed in the goodness of God, hoped in his mercy, and hoped for sufficient grace from him, whether it be grace to forgive or to bestow power (2 Corinthians 12:9).

God will give us grace to bear the many burdens of life (Heb. 4:16). His Holy Spirit allows us to be graceful, full of grace, even in adverse circumstances. Us Live and learn through a variety of situations to be graced in word and deed, attitude and action. David knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that: “The Lord will give strength to his people: the Lord will bless his people with strength” (Ps. 29:11). Even if you have let yourself go, your sins have led you away from God and Satan is holding you captive (2 Timothy 2:26; 1 Corinthians 5:5), remember God and He will remember you. Not that he ever forgot you: “But Zion said, The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. Shall a woman forget her suckling, so as not to have pity on the child of her womb? I forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have you carved in the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me” (Isaiah 49:14-16). God’s love for us goes far beyond our love for Him. He proved this when the palms of Jesus’ hands were pierced with stakes (Zechariah 13 :6).

Some have been foolishly deceived by sin and have carelessly re-entangled themselves, trapped in a danger zone, but as long as they don’t give up, they CAN overcome what has currently overcome them (Hebrews 3:13; 2 Peter 2). :twenty). Only those who have completely turned their backs on God, who refuse to get up when knocked down in the ring, will lose victory.

“And yet, notwithstanding all this (in spite of us), when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God” (Lev. 26:44).

God promises to release, gather and restore. He will free us from those sins that have cruelly captured our time and attention, recover our spiritual senses, since Satan’s psychological warfare has left us in a quagmire and clueless (Luke 22:31-32; Deuteronomy 28: 66-67). — and restore us to sanity and a right relationship with Him (where we belong), including “If one of your people is cast out to the uttermost part of heaven, the LORD your God will gather you from there and take you from there” (Deut 30:3-4).No matter how far you have strayed, God has not lost sight of you.“Where shall I go from your Spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?” (Ps. 139:7).

If you start crying out to God for help, even if it’s just a whimper because you’re so weak, He will see, hear, and answer. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the brokenhearted… None of those who trust in him shall be desolate” (Ps. 34:18,22). “For I will not contend forever, nor will I be angry forever; for the spirit shall faint before me, and the souls which I have made… I have seen his ways, and I will heal him: I will also guide him, and restore comfort to him and his mourners ” (Isaiah 57:15-18).

God sees what trouble we’ve gotten ourselves into and where our backsliding into sin has misled us and dangerously stranded us, bringing us almost to the point of no return, but NOTHING can separate you from God’s love unless you allow it (Rom 8:35- 39). As long as there is a spark of the Spirit of God, God can renew our minds and transforms our lives (Ps. 51:10). God will finish what he has started in our lives (Philippians 1:6; Isaiah 66:9). Never forget that we worship a GOD WHO WORKS MIRACLES!

Remember that the prodigal son was still distant from his father, their relationship had grown apart, but when he “gained consciousness” and headed home, even while still a excellent away–“his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell upon his neck, and kissed him” (Luke 15:17, 20).

God knows where you are and what direction you’re headed in your heart and mind, even if your actions haven’t caught up with your attitude yet! God knows they will, eventually. “For He remembers our form (make-up); He remembers that we are but dust” (Ps. 103:14). God wants to encourage us to change, not discourage us from trying (2 Corinthians 2:7).

Constructive criticism, not destructive. Judgment with mercy. God helps but Satan prevents progress, but we CONQUEST CONTINUING, one step at a time (1 Thessalonians 2:18; 2 Peter 3:18). God gave David the Kingdom, but he had to fight for it! We too (Matt. 11:12; I Tim. 6:12). Otherwise, we would take it for granted. Keep fighting (Luke 13:24). All the things you believe in are worth fighting for. Growth comes in stages. We must patiently let our trials run their course and build the character of God within us (Hebrews 12:11; James 1:4).

Satan wants to extinguish your light (I Tim. 4:16). He hates the sacred coals of the Spirit of God, light and truth that we hold and represent, as royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9; John 17:17; Ex. 27:20). God does not kick us when we are down, but rather encourages us to STAND UP AND GET OVER IT and carry on his work (Ps. 37:24; Phil. 3:13). When your faith fails and your confidence is shaky, Christ will not turn you off, but will add more oil so we can rise up and shine (Isaiah 42:3). “For God has not appointed us for wrath, but for OBTAINING SALVATION…Therefore comfort one another and build one another up, just as you also do” (1 Thess. 5:9-11).

“For God shows his love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us… For if, being enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life … by whom we have received atonement” (Rom. 8-11).

If God can express so much love for us when we were not even trying to lead a Christian life that pleased him, how much more so now that we are trying, however imperfectly? Don’t we suffer because we hunger and thirst for justice? Brothers we appreciate your holy suffering! It is working on a PURPOSE in your life that will last for all eternity! Growing pains hurt.

We should love God all the more when we catch a glimpse of his mercy and patience toward us. His goodness should prompt us to want to draw near to him and to do what we can to show how much we appreciate his tender love (Rom. 2:4; Luke 7:47). Nothing should get in the way of our relationship with our Creator God! If God rescued our ancestors over and over again, when they cried out to Him, how much more Will it save us from the lake of fire? (Jude 23, 24).

God can save us from sinful situations and restore to us His promise of the priesthood (Zechariah 3). We can be “a brand plucked from the fire,” saved from the “furnace of affliction” (Isaiah 48:10). God can forcefully remind us the hard way that He is what we really want, His Kingdom and His righteousness that makes us real, not the superficial things that couldn’t possibly fill the void in life (Ps. 106 :15;107:9).

we must keep higher in mind the meaning and purpose of life: to develop the holy and righteous character of God in joyful anticipation of the Kingdom of God. This will help us face all the challenges that life brings us in this purification process that we call conversion. We must remember: “No temptation has taken you except that which is common [not unusual] to man: but GOD IS FAITHFUL, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond your level of tolerance; but he will provide with all temptation a way out, so that you can overcome it” (1 Corinthians 10:13 paraphrased).

And realize “…that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy of being compared with the GLORY that will be revealed in us” (Rom. 8:18) because Christ will return soon and every practicing Christian will be perfected. Then we will help our Savior prepare the way for our Father’s amazing arrival with the NEW JERUSALEM! (Rev. 21:3).

The Kingdom of God is closer every day, so we must raise our heads and not be discouraged, but allow ourselves to ENCOURAGE ourselves to move forward (Isaiah 35:3; Luke 21:28). All stumble, but do not wallow (Ps. 37:24). Let your attitude be; “I have to No die, but live, and proclaim the works of the LORD. Jehovah has punished me harshly, but he has not given me over to death ”(Ps. 118: 17-18). Hallelujah!

God’s forgiveness and Christ’s cleansing power remain in effect (Isa. 18). God knows what we’ve been through and he’s been through it with us, through it all, wearing his crown of thorns (Isaiah 63:9; Genesis 22:13; Exodus 3:2). God couldn’t get much closer (Jeremiah 23:23). The bottom line is: have hope and not despair; faith and not fear! After all, “… your Father has been pleased to give you the Kingdom” (Luke 12:32).

Do you wonder why a doctor practices medicine even after all that training? Medicine in the context of sports, movement and exercise is a very new concept. The field of sports medicine is defined as a medical subspecialty responsible for the ongoing care, improvement of health and fitness, and prevention of injury and illness of a person who engages in physical exercise and sports. In the spectrum of science, sports medicine was never a major concern. It wasn’t until the last couple of generations that exercise was sought to prolong life and improve the daily function of your body. The gears of concern shifted, and sports medicine became the mainstream media. You are active and take this science for granted. But years ago the exercise was underestimated and the signs of physical work of the body only offered signs of servitude and lower class citizens. Next, you will have a brief history of the scientific movement we now refer to as sports medicine.

At the beginning of recorded time, humans have been doing the right things. As early as the Primitive Era (2500 BC), the Chinese used exercise to overcome and prevent disease in an effort to prolong life. In the days of the Greek era 9500 B.C. C., athletics was a large part of life and entertainment. Greek doctors began to get involved in athletics. Herodicus (480 BC) is recognized as the first “Professor of Athletic Medicine”. Hippocrates (460 BC) is responsible for the development of medicine. He spent a lot of time preparing athletes for competition and treating their injuries. Aristotle (340 BC) was another popular physician. Athletics was more than a sport, the Greeks incorporated physical activity and training into their daily lives and education systems as a tool to thwart invasion from other countries.

Science took off briefly during the Roman era (AD 150). A Greek doctor, named Clautius Galen, moved to Rome and became the doctor for the gladiator team! This may have been the coach of the first spell team at the time. He optimized his unique position and gave four great contributions. The first was that the muscles contract and shorten. Second, nerves carry a stimulus from the brain to the muscles. Third, he pointed out that the arteries take a substance (which turned out to be oxygen) from the lungs into the tissues. Galen inevitably developed therapeutic rehabilitation exercises for his gladiators after injury. The Dark Age (1500 AD) offered few scientific developments. Ironically, physicians at the time mistranslated the Greek texts to mean that vigorous exercise and sports were inadvisable.

When science began to look at exercise again, it became known as the Modern Era (1600-Present). During the 1600s, William Harvey discovered and described the flow and circulation of blood. Other medical writers of the time claimed that exercise could “preserve health.” In the 1800s, science was finally quantified. An English physiologist, Edward Smith, was the first to quantify the amount of work output. In fact, he built a large treadmill to hold 10 prisoners as a workforce and then used wind resistance to adjust power levels. In Scandinavia, a big movement started and broke away from the mainstream medical fields. It was called Gymnastics. The new field organized the use of exercise to improve and develop physical and mental attributes.

America in the years 1900-2000 showed many improvements and discoveries. From 1900 to 1920, AV Hill, an English physiologist, won the Noble Prize for his work in muscle physiology. He is considered the “First Exercise Physiologist”. Two pioneer men studied with Hill. These two men established the Harvard Fatigue Laboratory. This is where it all started to blossom. This is the first exercise physiology lab in the US and was literally in the basement of Harvard Business School. Bruce Dill was one of the two founders and hailed as the first American exercise physiologist. He has many publications on exercise and physical chemistry, mainly on hemoglobin. The second founder, Joseph Wolfe, created the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in 1954.

The Harvard Fatigue Lab really kickstarts a new science. During the 1940s and 1960s, the Army Research Laboratory in Natick, Massachusetts began testing. They eventually established progressive research on body composition, the body’s response to heat and cold during exercise, and much more. The years 1960-1980 became the beginning of a fitness boom within the mainstream media and society. This sudden resurgence in physical fitness and exercise led Ken Cooper to corner the term and the popular group training style, aerobics. Research began on the effects of exercise from altitude, heart disease, nutrition, and surgical techniques and materials. All of which play vital roles in athletics and rehabilitation.

Today is unknown. Things may be discovered that will shake the foundations of exercise science. Only in recent years has the food pyramid been completely redesigned to include different aspects of activity levels and body types within society. Recent advances with laptops and processing speeds, biochemical analyzers, and gas analyzers that detect breath exchange as you move. If your athletic curiosity demanded it, you can now find out the ratio of muscle fiber types by essentially using a thick needle and removing a small cylinder of muscle tissue. It’s surprisingly a painful and invasive quick prick. This is called NMR imaging and spectroscopy. We in the industry are always practicing. We always adapt the routine not only to maximize results, but also to adapt to the ever-changing new science. The future is limitless with the human body.

You will know the feeling of your heart racing, irrational but it feels like real thoughts running through your head of everything that could go wrong and then that feeling of hot or cold, palpitations, sweating, nausea and/or shortness of breath; This is what is known as a panic attack or extreme anxiety.

These feelings can be triggered by anything you experience sporadically or frequently, leading to a life of low confidence, low self-esteem, high levels of fear, social ineptitude, and worry, all of which fuel and are caused by anxiety. Debilitating worry about what others think of you or danger can consume vast amounts of energy, time, and life. We also have the potential to achieve anything we set our minds to, but anxiety can take over when the body and mind hold back in a comfortable zone of fear instead of trying to break free from the grip of this worry.

A certain level of worry is actually healthy, because if we weren’t afraid, we would make a lot of the wrong decisions, get hurt, or get into some kind of trouble. Worry offers a calculated risk that is healthy. However, for millions of us, this worry increases and has caused excessive anxiety and fear in us, causing us to withdraw from many things in life and causing a spiral of negative behavior. However, we don’t realize that anxiety and worry can be fought and stopped if they are addressed in the right way. One way is to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a technique used to change your cognitive (thought) processes from negative to positive in order to change your behaviors in the same way. Here are 5 ways you can use CBT to beat that worry and anxiety so you can lead a life of confidence, high self-esteem, and happiness.

1: Knowledge

Find out as much as you can about CBT, anxiety and worry. We can go through life not realizing that we can help ourselves and that we can make changes. We don’t have to accept things as they are most of the time. Learning about anxiety and worry will begin to give you a realistic foundation on which to present your thought processes and therefore your behaviors. Knowing things like we can’t change the past so worrying about it is useless, the things we worry about statistically probably won’t happen and most of our worries are about things we don’t really need to seriously think about.

2: Write it all down

Keep a small notebook or journal with you at all times.

– Write down every time you are anxious or worried, repercussions of this, thoughts, feelings, actions, anything that affects your day and you think is worth writing down.

– At the end of the day, look at the things you write down and scale from 1 to 10 (with 10 being the highest) based on how intensely you felt worry or anxiety.

– Then classify each point into 4 sections: 1 – Worried that it might happen 2 – Worried because it happened in the past 3 – Worried about the little things of the day (little things that will probably go unnoticed by most) 4 – Worried about things big (Something that will really have an impact on your life).

– Look at the list and see how it is distributed and see if the points are relative between the score you gave them and the categories in which you put them.

– Viewing them this way will give you insight into false and irrational beliefs and give you the tools to make changes, as you can start working on changing your thinking and moving these points to lower scores and different, more realistic categories .

– From this you can begin to take the initiative to make decisions and take responsibility and control of your life.

3: Get out of your comfort zone of fear

The results of anxiety and ingrained false beliefs in our minds and behaviors can ironically leave us in a comfort zone of fear. This means that we are more comfortable feeling negative and leading an anxiety controlled life than facing our fears and making changes to get the life we ​​should have. Getting out of this area can be daunting, but it is necessary. We have to face our fears. Although this can be overwhelming, it can be done. However, facing your fears using exposure therapy should be done carefully, it is not about ripping off the band-aid in one fell swoop when it comes to this. By taking small steps and using a combination of positive affirmations and techniques, you can slowly expand the boundaries of those comfort zones until you can confidently walk through them. Make plans to address your worries and fears to help you, try using a perspective from others’ point of view, and practice.

4: Anchor

Anchoring is a common technique used within CBT, it is a method of connecting a positive association to something you currently find traumatic by using a trigger.

– Choose an object that you have with you every day, such as jewelry (a ring or necklace is good). If you don’t have this, you can use the knuckle of your left hand to pinch or poke your leg with your finger.

– Find a quiet place to go where you won’t be disturbed.

– Think of a moment, situation or event in which you felt completely relaxed, confident and happy.

We fight the Spirit Realm

We are in a spiritual battle. Paul says: “Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand firm against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:11-12). In Maplestory, hit point (HP) flushing can be a great way to increase survivability in the game and mixing up Magic Point (MP) flushing correctly can greatly increase the effectiveness of HP flushing. This is usually called a double wash.

Double flushing is the best way to flush hit point that is available in all versions of Maplestory. It’s only for those who can afford it, though as it is. VERY expensive to do many times. Those who don’t want or can’t spend much on hit point flushing will be better off doing a normal HP flush.

There are 2 different tactics for double washing: single level double washing and multilevel double washing. Technically both can be done on the same level, but the explanations will see it as if the character is doing the multi-level wash on different levels.

Creating conflict in your novel is a given, otherwise there would be no story. If everything went well, it would be as boring as dishwater, right? They all lived happily ever after, yawn…

I have listed seven ways that you can inject suspense into your novel:

1. Present your characters with their worst nightmare!

Learn about your characters beforehand. If possible, write down their likes and dislikes, etc., and most important of all, find out what they fear the most. What is it that makes their hearts pound, beads of sweat form on their upper lips, and the hairs on the nape of their necks stand on end? Find out what that thing or things is and then give it to him, both barrels. Longer sentences tend to slow things down. You might want to speed things up for a car chase or slow things down for a lovemaking scene. Imagine your novel as if you were watching it on the big screen. How would it be filmed? What would that particular scene be like for the audience?

5. The calm before the storm

Take advantage of the weather to good effect. Thunderclouds looming overhead, often giving the reader the feeling that something is about to happen. [prophetic fallacy]. It is defined as the measure of the cost of lost productivity due to employees actually showing up for work, but not being fully engaged and productive, primarily due to distractions related to personal health and life. Statistically, presenteeism is rearing its ugly head and showing itself for what it really is… a costly and somewhat invisible threat to employers. It is considered a threat due to its stealthy nature. The term itself is new, having recently been added to our language. Given the following alarming statistics, your business may be in jeopardy.

o Presenteeism accounts for 61% of an employee’s total loss of productivity and medical costs. (4)

o 42% of employees anticipate elder care issues in the next five years. (2)

This also has the hidden benefit of enhancing goodwill and showing employees that their employer cares about their concerns. While these actions may seem expensive, they are actually an investment in your business.

Consciousness is the key, the origin, the beginning of finding solutions. Study your trades in light of the above statistics. Take steps to prepare for these unavoidable situations and incorporate their associated costs into your business model, rather than being surprised at the end of the fiscal year with drastically reduced profit margins without reasonable explanation. Savvy business people will realize the costs of presenteeism and take steps in advance to protect their business.

How do you lead your people through change and identify the most effective change management strategies that are appropriate for these difficult conditions?

Daniel Goleman has defined and articulated a new approach to leadership, calling it “Primary Leadership.” This refers to the emotional dimension of leadership: the leader’s ability to articulate a message that resonates with his followers’ emotional reality and sense of purpose, thus motivating them to move in a specific direction.

In my opinion, this is of considerable interest and relevance to those of us who work with companies undergoing change.

Daniel Goleman, Richard Boyatzis and Annie McKee in 2002 first introduced the concept in a book by that name. His work draws heavily on Emotional Intelligence or “EI” research.

The Importance of Primordial Leadership

In today’s climate of uncertainty, people need leadership that offers them a measure of reassurance and certainty of conviction about the direction in which they are being led.

This is important because people cannot work effectively if they are experiencing emotional turmoil. Your ability to get the job done depends on keeping your emotions in check. A leader has to address those often unconscious and unexpressed fears along the way to help people keep them in check.

A study of 3,871 executives and their direct reports shows that HOW a leader leads in terms of the emotional resonance they generate or not, is important for 2 reasons:

(1) A large part of the culture and the “general feeling” or “emotional tone” of what it is like to work in an organization is largely determined by the leader.

(2) The leader’s style determines about 70% of the emotional climate which, in turn, drives 20-30% of business performance.

Leaders’ emotions infect the organization – the importance of resonance.

The central finding of EI research is that emotions are essentially contagious, and therefore a leader’s attitude and energy can “infect” a workplace for better or worse.

With this in mind, the authors emphasize the importance of resonance, which is the ability of leaders to perceive and influence the flow of emotions (including motivational states) between themselves and others with whom they work.

In an interview [with Stephen Bernhut in “Leaders Edge”, Ivey Business Journal May/June 2002] Daniel Goleman said:

“First, you have to search within yourself to discover your own truth, because you can’t be resonant if you’re clueless, if you’re faking it, or if you’re just trying to manipulate people.”

You have to speak from your heart, and you have to do it in a way that speaks to other people’s hearts. So authenticity is needed. And if you can articulate a positive goal, that is, to stay optimistic, enthusiastic, and motivated while delivering that message, then what you’re doing is spreading that message and those moods and attitudes to the people you’re talking to. Emotions are contagious, and they are most contagious from the top down, from the leader to the followers.

Act as a leader in a way that generates positive emotions in people.

In the same interview, Goleman suggests that you need self-awareness first of all, to know what is going on with your own emotions. You also need to use your self-awareness to feel what is right and wrong in a situation, to use your deep values ​​to guide you in what you do from moment to moment.
