What is SEO? Search engine optimization

Whenever I mention SEO, people always ask, what is SEO? SEO stands for “search engine optimization”. Search engine optimization is the process of optimizing your landing page or website for the Google search engine. The Google search engine uses an algorithm to search for a couple of different things in order to include a website in the results when a person types in a specific set of keywords. Keywords are what the Internet user types in the Google search engine when searching for a product or service. For example, if a user were searching for the best SEO company in Phoenix, Arizona, they would type “the best SEO company in Phoenix AZ” into the search engine and they will be presented with the results that Google believes would satisfy their search needs. SEO is simply optimizing a business person’s website so that it is the best possible result for a certain set of keywords.

How do SEO companies find the right keywords for a particular business?

They find the right keywords using Google’s keyword planner. The keyword planner allows you to type in any set of keywords or phrases and the planner will tell you how many times those keywords or phrases are entered into the search engine each month. You can type any variation of keywords and the planner will also display keywords or phrases similar to the ones you are typing. This is the best way to find out what kind of jargon users are using when searching for a certain type of product or service.

What does the Google algorithm look for?

The main things Google looks for when ranking your website are titles, keyword density, and backlinks. Your website tile should include your keywords. Let’s say a search engine optimization company wants to rank for the term “Best SEO Company”, the title of the web page or post being optimized should start with those keywords. As in the example above, “the best SEO company in Phoenix AZ”.

The next step would be to implement those keywords within the content or text of the web page or publication. Keyword density – that is, how many times that keyword is stated in the text – generally needs to be between 2 and 4 percent for Google to see it’s relevant. Don’t add keywords too few or too many times because Google will see you as a spammer or not relevant enough. Backlinks are simply links to other sites related to your business. For example, let’s say we want to make a blog post about SEO because we are trying to create a link back to an SEO website. We would build a blog post containing the SEO related keywords and place the link of the website that we are trying to build the backlink to within the text of that blog post.

Then Google will read that blog post and find out that the post you created is related to the website and that they both have similar keywords. Now you can just link from any website, it has to be a high quality site with at least a PR 2 or better and that’s the hardest part. Not all sites allow you to create links that point to other sites. Research how to rebuild links if you want to know more about this topic.

SEO is simply a way to connect search engines with the products or services they are looking for. If you can make your titles, keywords, and backlinks relevant to a user’s search, you’ll rank high on Google’s search engine and people will be able to find you when they search for a particular product or service related to your business. . .
