Using self-hypnosis to relieve a sore throat

The reason I am writing this today is because I have a sore throat this morning.

Mainly yesterday I ran a marathon in torrential rain and with cold winds accompanying it, then at the end of the marathon, I had to stand in the same wind and rain for a long time to pick up my bag, and then even more to take a bus from link to parking … I was so cold my lips turned blue and most of the major muscles in my body were shaking and shaking uncontrollably … It was horrible.

This was actually my third marathon in 15 days and the physical efforts have started to take their toll; Yesterday it seemed very difficult and today I feel exhausted … With a sore throat.

Cue the violins here please …

So this morning I have been doing a lot of self-hypnosis to ease my sore throat, especially since I have a lot to talk about at work today. The self-hypnosis process is not all I do, of course not; I have plenty of hot tea to go and a healthy diet is essential. For me, however, my mind is also important.

5 Steps to Relieve a Sore Throat Using Self Hypnosis:

Step one: Induce hypnosis. Use whatever technique or strategy you know to get into self-hypnosis. Immerse yourself and focus on the process, be present and in the moment and make sure you will not be disturbed for the rest of this session, proceed to step two.

Second step: Just tune in to your body and get a feel for what it is like right now. Simply increase your awareness of your breathing, the rhythm of your body, and allow yourself to relax more and enjoy this stillness.

Now focus particularly on the area in and around your throat and begin to relax that area. Relax the jaw, throat, and all areas connected to it in the ear, nose, and throat region.

To do this, you can imagine a soothing, warm color that spreads, develops, and grows within those areas. Or you can imagine a soothing sound that resonates and vibrates in a particular way throughout that area; alternatively, you could just develop a relaxing sensation or a sensation that comfortably spreads across the area, or of course, do all of the above!

When you feel that you have relaxed that area wonderfully and well, continue to allow this part of the process to take you deeper into your mind, then move on to the next step.

Step three: Next, with the area relaxed, now begin to engage your imagination and imagine a warm shower of water flowing down and through your relaxed open throat.

Let the water flow as fast as you want and imagine that it is exactly the right temperature for you, the most relaxing, warmest and most comfortable temperature.

As it flows and warms, feel that the warm, soothing flow of water has healing properties of some kind; You can imagine that it is medical properties, or you can imagine that it is magical or naturally healthy in some way. Just choose what is best for you and imagine that the water is healing and calming as it flows warmly in and around your throat.

Imagine gargling with the warm healing water for a few more moments and when you are ready to move on to the next step, stop gargling and move on to the next step.

Step fourNow that your throat is warming, clearing, and calming, now imagine thick, warm, sweet, soothing honey slowly rolling down your throat. Imagine that you are healing, glistening and comforting warmly, comfortably. Imagine that you are covering and protecting the inside of the throat. Imagine that the soft and warm protective layer on the inside of your throat helps keep this feeling of calm health longer and is working to help your throat improve more and more on the most efficient and effective time scale for you.

Take as much time as you want to enjoy this wonderful part of the session, and then move on to the final step.

Step five: When you have noticed a real difference in how your throat feels, then you can end the session, telling yourself that the effects continue and extend beyond this session, helping you throughout the day.

Take a couple of deeper energetic breaths, wiggle your fingers and toes, and open your eyes.

Enjoy using this to help you overcome any sore throat that may come your way. Although be sure to do everything you can to prevent them from happening in the first place; prevention is the best medicine, as they say.
