The voice behind Optimus Prime is Peter Cullen. He graduated from the National Drama School of Canada. Peter Cullen is basically a voice actor and has lent his voice to several films, which became an instant hit. He was cast as Optimus Prime, the lead Autobot, and even voiced Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh. He has even played Coran, King Alfor in Lion Volteron, and Mantus in Pirates of the Dark Waters.

His own personal favorite character is Optimus Prime and he has also been signed up for two sequels. The upcoming film ‘The Revenge of the Fallen’ is also on the way to release. Cullen was asked to play Optimus in a mocking role, but he refused as the character is very close to him. The writers killed Optimus in the movie, but considering the uproar the young audience generated about it, Optimus is back on the scene.

He has not only worked for films but has also given his voice to the television industry. Several commercials have been released using his voice. His voice was used in Cartoon Network commercials and cartoons such as ‘The Jetsons’. His voice has been featured in numerous Nintendo video games. He was the first to do it.
