Top 3 Doll Companies Every Girl Should Own A Doll From

During the Christmas season, parents must decide which toys to buy for their child. How do you decide which dolls to place under the tree? Do you base your purchase on the latest trend, the doll that has been in production the longest, or the doll that experts say will be a collectible?

buying strategy

This is my buying strategy, including my three favorite doll companies that every child should have a doll from.

  • If it says collectible, it’s not.

This strategy works for dolls and all kinds of items are advertised as collectibles. Something becomes collectible because there is something that creates a desire for people to buy and appreciate the item. Announcing a collectible does not make it such. In the world of collecting, that generally makes an item less collectible and certainly not worth more than the price it was originally purchased for.

  • part of a series

Dolls and other toys marketed as part of a series hope to encourage the collector in you and your child. My opinion is that not every item in a series is likely to be of interest, quality, or desire to possess. I recommend letting the series pass unless the items that make up the series are available at the same time. This way you can decide if you are interested in the series and think the “series” will be collectible. In my experience, there is usually one toy or doll in a series that is more desired and therefore more valuable than others.
