Be open to the written word and also to the Rhema word when it appears

How to evaluate wisdom? How to measure logic? How do you explain the supernatural intervention and guidance of God? How do we combine these amazing facets when they appear in our lives?

The wise men travel a thousand miles looking for the one who is born king of the Jews.

Logically, they went to the capital, Jerusalem. The cruel and violent King Herod was disturbed, calling his religious advisers, who explained from the Scriptures that Bethlehem of Judea would be the birthplace of this ruler and shepherd.

Resuming their journey, they see the star they had observed in the east again and it stops over the house where the child was. Jesus is no longer a baby. This happens many months later.

The wise men bow before Jesus, in adoration, presenting important and significant gifts. Having been warned of Herod’s vile intentions, they take a different route home from Israel.

Matthew tells us throughout his Gospel that Jesus is king. Parables teach about the kingdom of God, and the risen Christ speaks with all authority.

Since this message must be proclaimed to the whole world, Matthew includes us Gentiles in his authentic account.

From the beginning, we learn how the forces of evil try to silence and kill Jesus Christ: the temptations and the storms on the lake.

The world into which Jesus comes is evil. Doesn’t that explain much of what humanity faces today?

The coming of Jesus Christ into our world fulfills prophetic Scripture, and the wise meet Jesus as a consequence of the written word.

God the Father cares for His son. No evil Herod is allowed to interrupt this work.

No storm is going to swallow Jesus, but at the right time, Jesus would willingly give his life.

There are times and seasons when God intervenes and spontaneously intervenes, saying to the world: look at this, look at it more closely.

God gives us a rhema word when that is required and necessary for benefit.

A rhema word is something said or revealed for the immediate moment, like that star that led the wise men to Babylon, modern Iraq, where certain Jews had remained after exile.

In these present days a very specific and timely rhema word has been given in the United States of America and it is currently influencing and benefiting and blessing thousands of lives.

Be open to the written Word of God and be open to the rhema Word of God. With the latter we have to exercise a degree of caution and discernment, so as not to be led astray.
